RUSH apologizes

Right wing talking head Rush Limbaugh apologizes (sort of)  for calling Georgetown University Law School student Sandra Fluke a 'slut' and a 'prostitute' this past week after she testified on behalf of women's health care issues regarding contraception before a Congressional committee hearing.

CHECK OUT THE VIDEO BELOW to see Rush Limbaugh in action.

Politically Speaking, What A Week

The past week has generated some interesting banter around the world of politics.
First, there was Republican Presidential candidate Rick Santorum (going up against Michigan native Mitt Romney) blathering about how President Barack Obama is a 'snob' for wanting to give young people the chance to go to college.
Really?
Santorum himself had the chance to go to college before eventually winding up in the U.S. Senate for twelve years.
In 2006, Pennsylvania voters overwhelmingly threw his ass out of office in the election, where he lost by a whopping 18 percentage points to Bob Casey.
Then there was Romney (the ultimate flip-flopper) changing his position at least two or three times on the 'Blunt Amendment' to the Health Care Reform law regarding contraception (among other items) when it comes to women's health.
He claims he didn't quite understand the question when it was posed to him.
Yeah, right!
How about the death of Andrew Breitbart, the right wing internet blogger?
This guy was miserable it seemed as he continually hounded and howled at the Occupy Wall Street protesters in recent weeks.
Breitbart was just 43 years old and suffered from an apparent coronary disease that took his life this past Thursday.
Let's just leave it at that regarding the right wing hack.
But the topper of them all was RUSH LIMBAUGH, that fat tub of goo heard by millions on a daily basis over America's radio airwaves.
He called a young woman named Sandra Fluke, who is a student at Georgetown University Law School in D.C. a 'slut' and a 'prostitute' after she testified on behalf of contraception regarding women's health care recently in a Congressional committee hearing in the nation's capitol.
Really Rush, a slut?  A prostitute?
This just goes to show what a complete asshole Limbaugh is.
Maybe he should be FIRED the way radio talk show host Don Imus was a few years ago when he called the black women on the Rutgers basketball team 'nappy headed hoes'.
Perhaps a suspension is in order rather than a firing for the fat bastard that is Limbaugh.
Radio talk show host Ed Schultz (also of The Ed Show on MSNBC) was suspended from his own show last year when he called fellow political talker (on the radio) Laura Ingraham a slut. So why isn't radio giant Clear Channel doing something about the Limbaugh rant?
In fact, Schultz voluntarily took the suspension in reaction from the right to his remarks about Ingraham.
Applause was in order to Schultz for his actions on the matter as he manned up to his error and now continues onward in the political talk arena.
I stand by Schultz for his actions (that is Ed Schultz and myself in the picture)  and his witty commentary on a daily basis.
'Big Ed' is for the people of the United States of America.
Limbaugh is a complete tool for the right wing corporate fascists that hate America and especially President Obama.
How this guy remains on the radio is beyond any reasonable comprehension.
But what a week it was and it will continue to get interesting as the gasoline prices continue to soar well over $4.00 a gallon this spring and early summer.
Thanks you nitwits on Wall Street for the speculation on future oil prices in the God damn "global economy" that continues to drive those GAS PRICES up and up.
In the meantime, Heftyinfo will keep observing and only hope that things will reach a calmer demeanor politically speaking in the near future... but don't hold your breath on that happening.

Don't Be Fooled Again

When you see these HIGH FUEL PRICES (and they are headed that way) at your local gas station this spring and summer, blame the collusion and price gouging of the BIG OIL INDUSTRY and their partners in crime, the REPUBLICAN PARTY, who never met a big corporate or oil lobbyist they didn't like.

These ruthless scoundrels will do ANYTHING to undermine the United States, as they attempt to win at any and all costs in their bid against President Barack Obama.

Sunday Stew

Even though it is late Saturday night, this is called Sunday stew and here are some random musings ...

Politically speaking, President Barack Obama is at the top of his game lately and the Republicans know it.

Why does the main stream (and corporate controlled) media find it necessary to RAM things down the public's throats? Hint: Just look at the coverage the past week or so on Whitney Houston, Jeremy Lin, contraception, etc.

How 'bout that Rick Santorum, an 18 point loser in the U.S. Senate race in Pennsylvania (AS AN INCUMBENT) a few years back, thinking he can actually win the presidency from Barack Obama?

Newt Gingrich? Is he still hanging around the GOP primaries despite NOT being on the ballot in half a dozen or so states?

Keith Olbermann (Current TV's Countdown host) continues to pummel the rubbish known as Andrew Breitbart nightly and this is classic viewing... treat yourself if you haven't seen this yet.

Pat Buchanan (another right wing pundit) is OUT at MSNBC and not a moment too soon.

Why do people still watch Fox Network "News"?

There are some people actually calling that the U.S. Senate will go to Republicans as a majority this November... don't hold your breath.

Here in Chicago while listening to radio talk show host Dick Kay today, there is a LOT of growing ANIMOSITY from the good citizens of the Windy City toward Mayor Rahm Emanuel and that is a good thing because he sucks.

The Chicago Cubs started spring training today... yawn!

Does anyone really care what Rush Limbaugh thinks any more... this guy is a parody of himself.

Wisconsin governor Scott Walker's days are numbered in the badger state... YES!

God Bless America, in spite of the right wing hypocrites.

GIANTS WIN SUPER BOWL

The New York Giants did it to Tom Brady and the New England Patriots once again as they won Super Bowl 46 in Indianapolis, 21-17 to make it two-for two in Super Bowl matchups with the Patriots.

Eli Manning, who was named Super Bowl MVP,  threw for a touchdown and Ahmad
Bradshaw (17 carries for 72 yards) scored on a six-yard scoring run with just over a minute remaining in the final quarter to provide the difference.
The Giants, who finished the regular season at 9-7, outgained New England 396-349 in total yardage. Manning threw for 296 yards and hooked up with Victor Cruz on a two-yard scoring pass to give New York a 9-0 lead after one quarter.
A safety for the Giants defense came as Brady was called for intentional grounding the ball in his own end zone to make it 2-0.
Brady finished with 276 yards passing and two touchdowns with one interception.
New England stormed back from 9-0 down to go ahead 10-9 at the half when Brady hit Aaron Hernandez on a touchdown pass to go along with a Stephen Gostkowski  28-yard field goal.
The Patriots made it 17-9 in the third quarter when Brady hooked up with running back Danny Woodhead on a scoring pass. Following that, the Giants got a pair of field goals from Lawrence Tynes in the third quarter to cut the deficit to 17-15 heading to the final quarter.
The Giants went on a nine play, 88-yard drive and scored the winning touchdown courtesy of the Bradshaw run to clinch their second Super Bowl title in the last five years.

NFL - Super Bowl 46 Preview

NEW YORK GIANTS vs. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS

Super Bowl 46 features a rematch between the New York Giants and the New England Patriots, who squared off four years ago in Super Bowl 42, with the Giants pulling off the upset, 17-14.

That was then and this is now.

Granted, the Giants did march into New England in early November and beat the Pats, 24-20 behind a stellar defensive effort and quarterback Eli Manning showing poise in the clutch as he did in the final Super Bowl march that netted the Giants the Vince Lombardi trophy back following the 2007 season.

The Giants (9-7 in regular season) have been rolling since losing four in a row in mid-November to early December that left them with a 6-6 record at the time. They finished the season winning the final two games to win the NFC East.
In the playoffs, they have been stellar, crushing the Atlanta Falcons (in the Meadowlands) 24-2 and then traveling to Green Bay and dethroning the mighty Packers, 37-20.
Following that effort, they knocked off the San Francisco 49ers on the road in the NFC Championship Game, 20-17 in overtime.

KEY PLAYER- QB Eli Manning

Meanwhile, the Patriots (13-3 regular season record) have won ten straight games dating back to a loss against Pittsburgh at the end of October, followed by the loss to the Giants, and come into this game with a 15-3 mark behind a record setting offense led by QB Tom Brady.
In the playoffs, they have also been stellar, beating down the surprising Denver Broncos, 45-10 in the Divisional Round before disposing of the Baltimore Ravens, 23-20 in the AFC Championship Game.

KEY PLAYER- QB Tom Brady

PREDICTION- These two teams have faced each other and this should be another close game that could very well go down to the wire once again.
Only this time, it will be the New England Patriots winning, 28-24 as Tom Brady gets the honor of leading the final game winning drive.
